hello and welcome As We Gather to say morning prayer on this third day of our reflections of the special passages in St Luke's gospel which are particular to Luke this is Monday the 14th of October and in the United States of America it's Columbus Day and in indigenous people's Day in Canada it's Thanksgiving Day so we say to all of you who are celebrating today a Happy Thanksgiving and a happy Columbus an indigenous people's day this is a passage in St Luke's gospel we're going to think about of what gifts the Christ the Messiah will bring and is often called the Nazareth Manifesto of Jesus he's proclaiming it in his home synagogue with words of the prophet Isaiah and it speaks about freedom and good gifts from God so we hope that morning prayer when you tune into it will teach you a bit more about Luke
